Charlie Company provides medical support through 24-hour operations as the only medical evacuation company in Afghanistan. When an emergency call is transmitted for air-ambulance support, C Company, 1-168 General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) at Bagram Airbase, is equipped and standing by, ready to respond. Known as 'dustoff' from the original radio call sign from the Vietnam war; to this day all Medevac helicopters and units are referred to as such.
